The Colossal Squid is a Tier 7 ship in the Nautic Series mod. It fires two high damage pulses from the front and a high number of low damage lasers from the back with high recoil. Because of this, the Colossal Squid is the fastest Tier 7 ship in the mod. It is an excellent choice for Tier 7 because it mines and moves the fastest, although it is a glass cannon with its weak shield.
This ship's main purpose is to ram, with its high recoil and it can do 100 damage to the enemy with its front lasers and then knockback the enemy far away. The Colossal Squid is also helpful if a base raid fails because it can push slow enemy ships like the Fin Whale and Cachalot away from the fight. The Colossal Squid can even send a Cachalot teammate flying at the enemy, doing very high damage.
The Colossal Squid should be used like the U-Afterburn or U-Smasher from U-Series. Ram the enemy once to deal high damage. Then either ram the enemy again (to finish) or run away. Unlike the U-Afterburn, which dashes on low energy, you have to wait for energy to regenerate to use the dash. It's kind of like the U-Smasher with a fast pulse, and the pulse uses enough energy to prevent the dash from working.
Holding down the the fire button results in a stream of pulses with no recoil (similar to the U-Spread, U-Center, U-Octa, or U-Perimeter when damage is maxed and energy regen isn't upgraded), mining faster than all other Tier 7 ships. With 6 mining pods, the Colossal Squid does 235 DPS for mining, almost as high as the U-Spread and U-Center's frontal pulse.
Its turning rate is not so good, so it can be dealt TONS of damage while you're turning to hit your opponent. If you have a healer, it will help a lot, so try to give gems to max out the healers so they can heal you better and want to heal you.

Trivia[ | ]
- Unlike the U-Smasher and Cuttlefish, the Colossal Squid has no weak dash to prevent teammate trolling. While this enables tactics like ramming a teammate Cachalot into the enemy, it also allows trolling teammates. Fortunately, Nautic matches often end before reaching Tier 7, and when they don't, Tier 7 players typically play to win rather than troll.
